Getting your carbon project from conception to the marketplace

As experienced carbon offset project developers, Carbon Clear is in a unique position to advise on all aspects of the carbon market, offset project feasibility and design, and the process of project validation and verification. We offer the following services to external project developers:

1) Carbon Market Workshops

If you are interested in finding out more about the opportunities of the carbon market, this half-day workshop will help you understand the basics of carbon offsets and the project process. It covers what constitutes a valid carbon offset project (in terms of location, additionality, methodology, permanence, leakage etc), the trends on the carbon market and an explanation of the various carbon offset standards.

2) Project Feasibility Assessment

If you have an idea for a carbon offset project, we can undertake a feasibility study to help you understand how it can generate real emissions reductions and commercial value. We will also help develop a Project Idea Note (PIN) to show to investors, and recommend applicable carbon credit standard(s).

As an initial guide, a feasible project is likely to:

• Be sited in a developing country
• Reduce greenhouse gas emissions below a "business as usual" baseline
• Demonstrate "additionality", showing that the project would not happen without the expectation of carbon finance
• Include a rigorous monitoring system that will withstand independent, third-party verification
• Demonstrate active community consultation and provide measurable livelihoods benefits to local communities.

3) Project Development Service

Once you have established the feasibility of your carbon offset project, Carbon Clear offers a project development service. The aim would be to take your project through the process of design (writing the Project Design Document - PDD), validation, verification and the issuance of carbon offset credits. Our service is flexible to meet your specific project needs, and we are able to structure payment as either fixed-fee or as a share of the carbon offset credit proceeds.

4) Procurement of Carbon Credits

We actively seek carbon offset credits from established projects, especially those that qualify for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), Voluntary Carbon Standard, and Gold Standard certification.
