The Advisory Board
The Carbon Clear Advisory Board includes experts in the fields of climate science and energy, corporate
ethics, and international development.
Responsibilities:
- Review Carbon Clear’s carbon reduction activities to improve the transparency and credibility of our work.
- Ensure that our environmental and social development claims reflect sound science and policy.
- Offer advice and consultation in members’ respective areas of expertise.
- Call for external review where required to ensure we are meeting our obligations to customers and partners.
Dr Daniel M. Kammen
is the Class of 1935 Distinguished Professor of Energy at the University
of California, Berkeley. He advises the U. S. and Swedish Agencies for International Development, the World
Bank, and the President’s Committee on Science and Technology (PCAST), and is a member of the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change. Dr Kammen serves on the technical review board for the Global Environment Facility,
is a lead author for the Special Report on Technology Transfer of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change, and advises the World Bank and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and well as the African

Professor N. Craig Smith
is the INSEAD Chair in Ethics and Social
Responsibility at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. He was previously on the faculties of London Business
School, Georgetown University, and Harvard Business School. Dr Smith serves on the Scientific Committee
of Vigeo, a corporate social responsibility rating agency. Read more about Prof Smith
